What is Speech Pathology
Speech Pathology services within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) play a crucial role in enhancing the communication and swallowing abilities of individuals with disabilities. NDIS-funded Speech Pathology services are designed to support participants in developing effective communication skills, addressing speech and language disorders, and overcoming challenges related to swallowing difficulties.
- Speech therapy helps improve communication skills like talking and understanding others.
- Speech therapy addresses eating difficulties, ensuring the safe swallowing of food and liquids.
- With the support of speech therapy, you can more readily engage and actively contribute to your community.
How we can help
If you or a loved one encounters challenges with speaking, eating and/or drinking, The Inclusion Spot is here to assist. From helping children overcome speech delays to assisting adults with swallowing difficulties, our compassionate therapists are here to guide you every step of the way.
Our Speech Pathologists are ready to provide support by evaluating your swallowing function, offering swallowing therapy and educational guidance, suggesting adjustments to your diet, or making referrals to medical specialists for further investigation if needed.
Additionally, we can create mealtime management plans for those who require support from others to ensure safe eating and drinking.
Our Speech Pathologists are qualified Allied Health professionals and are trained in First Aid. All of our staff must provide a “Working with Children” certificate and a “Police Check” before being employed. Our team prides itself on being highly compassionate and focused on delivering person-centered supports each and every day.
